At the scheduled time we'll meet you at the Naples train station, at the entrance located at Piazza Garibaldi, where we'll be waiting for you to give you your train tickets.

You'll board the train that connects the central station with the Pietrarsa district, in southern Naples, the birthplace of the Italian railroad. Did you know that Pietrarsa became one of the most important industrial centers in Italy at the end of the 19th century?

After a short ride, you'll reach this district and you'll have to go to the Railway Museum of Pietrarsa, located in a privileged enclave with spectacular views of the Gulf of Naples. The complex has 36,000 square meters (387,500 square feet), part of which is occupied by a beautiful botanical garden with plants from all over the world.

Here the guide will be waiting for you to accompany you to visit this museum. Ready to learn about the railway history of Italy? As you walk through the museum, you'll retrace important events such as the inauguration of the pavilions of the Royal Mechanical, Pyrotechnical, and Locomotive Works by King Ferdinand II of Bourbon in 1840, carried out with the aim of emancipating the kingdom of the Two Sicilies from the technical supremacy of the European powers. These pavilions would be reconverted in the 70s in the current museum.

We'll see the first Italian railroad, old locomotives, and colorful wooden passenger cars, learning the meaning and importance of the railway industry for the country.

After two hours, we'll end the tour. You'll return by train on your own to the starting point.
