Explore houses that still have remaining rooms, buildings with original Roman columns, shops and public buildings...step back in time to Ancient Rome with this tour of the Herculaneum ruins. A unique trip to an archaeological UNESCO World Heritage Site!
We'll pick you up from your accommodation between 7:30 and 8:30 am, and we'll leave Naples behind to head to Herculaneum, an ancient Roman city destroyed in the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD.
When we arrive, this city in ruins will make us travel back in time. We'll start our route at the House of the Corinthian Atrium, one of Herculaneum's oldest, which stands out for its mosaics on the wall and towers; we'll continue towards the House of the Deer, where there are still paintings on the walls and a marble floor.
We'll also be able to find out about the way of life for citizens of Herculaneum, while we admire the forum, thermal baths and the house of Neptune, and the Amphitrite mosaic. Did you know that this was home to a grocer's shop?
We'll discover the buildings of this ancient city, find out about its history, and the people that once lived here, before finally taking the bus back to Naples, where our tour will finish at about 11:30 am.
