Free Walking Tour of Naples: Viewpoints and Vicoli

Meet your guide at 10 am next to the Fountain of Neptune in the Piazza del Municipio in Naples. Don't forget your camera: you're going to want it on this free walking tour of the most spectacular views and vicoli in the southern Italian city!

Stroll over to the funicular railway, a popular way to climb up the peaks surrounding Naples. After buying your ticket, you'll climb aboard and ascend to the hilltop for unparalleled panoramic views over the Gulf of Naples and the Mediterranean. What's more, on clear days, you'll be able to admire the imposing Mount Vesuvius on the horizon!

Walking back down the hill through the streets of the Vomero district, you'll be captivated by the contrasts of the area. Elegant palazzos and modest houses sit side by side, with beautiful sea views accompanying you all the while.

Discover the magic of everyday life here in Naples as you delve deeper into the vicoli, as the locals call the narrow, winding alleyways that divide the city. Entering the bustling Quartieri Spagnoli or Spanish Quarter your guide will reveal the connection this neighbourhood has with the Spanish monarchy.

As the streets and alleys grow ever more narrow and labyrinthine, you'll reach the Piazza del Plebiscito, where you'll see the magnificent façades of the Royal Palace of Naples and the San Francesco di Paola Basilica. Your free tour of the viewpoints and vicoli of Naples will come to an end in this square at 12:30 pm.

It is not possible to book this free walking tour for groups of more than 6 people. If you're a larger group, we recommend reserving our Private Guided Tour of Naples.
